KISD (5A) Early Preseason football preview

Cinco Ranch hosted the Katy Taylor 7v7 tournament Saturday afternoon as several teams hoped to earn a qualification for the state tournament.
SBISD Early Preseason football preview
With 7-on-7 football in full swing, Texas teams are in preparation for the upcoming 2007 season. Last year, The Athlete’s Connection had a strong presence in several districts, including Spring Branch (in District 19-5A).
Those teams are Memorial, Stratford, Northbrook, and Spring Woods.
Private schools summer 7-on-7
During the summer break, Texas public high school football programs are able to compete in organized 7-on-7 tournaments that are regulated by a governing group of high school coaches. For the private school athletes however, such a level of competition is not available.
Currently, every Monday and Wednesday from 2pm to 6pm, several Houston area private schools come together to compete in unofficial 7-on-7 games.
Morton Ranch 7-on-7 practice tournament
Morton Ranch hosted a mid-week 7-on-7 tournament Wednesday night that brought on fierce competition at the JV and Varsity levels.

The last day of the Bayou Bowl proved to be memorable as players from each state met at the Baytown Community Center for the ring ceremony prior to their big game.
Craig Roberts made an appearance as the guest speaker for this event. The audience was engaged as Roberts told some humorous tales about his history with the sport of football.
Bayou Bowl 2007: The wrap up and finale
Starting on Tuesday June 5, top players from two states congregated in Baytown to begin preparation for the fifth annual Bayou Bowl.

Texas and Louisiana Bayou Bowl players met at San Jacinto Mall to sign autographs for their enthused fan base. The signing came on Friday, June 8 after a jam-packed week with events leading up to the final game.

Louisiana’s top high school seniors came out hitting on all cylinders Saturday night in the 2007 Bayou Bowl that resulted to a 31-15 victory over Texas at Stallworth Stadium.

7-on-7 football action took place at Rice University on this hot and muggy Saturday.
Cinco Ranch 7-on-7 football action
Seven-on-seven football action continued Saturday at Cinco Ranch High School as 16 Greater Houston teams competed.

Thursday proved to be a day that provided the cement for both the Texas and Louisiana teams participating in the 2007 Bayou Bowl game Saturday night at Stallworth Stadium in Baytown.

Texas City hosts 16 teams at Texans 7-on-7 tournament
Texas City hosted sixteen teams in the 7-on-7 tournament held June 3rd at the Texans’ Reliant Center practice facility.
Among the sixteen teams invited, the teams were divided into four pools, which were combined of four teams each, with only four teams advancing to the semifinals. The teams represented were Stratford, Klein Oak, Cinco Ranch, and Klein Forest, though only two went on to play the final game in the tournament.
South wins Blue Chip Football Classic
In an all star game that displayed an all-out defensive battle, the South squad came from behind to defeat the North 20-14 in the 7th Annual Blue Chip Classic All-Star football game Saturday night at Delmar Stadium.
Early on, there was little to no offensive penetrations by either side.
Baytown Lee hosts 7-on-7 at the Texans facility
Sixteen teams arrived early Saturday morning at the 7-on-7 tournament hosted by Baytown Lee.

HC's Johnston to be inducted to Texas Hall of Honor
Houston Christian coach Mike Johnston is heading into his 40th year of
coaching football and has received many accolades in his career, but
one of his greatest is coming in a few months.
Johnston will receive the highest honor attributed to high school
coaches in the state of Texas.
