    El Modena battled Katella High School in a boys volleyball preseason match up Tuesday afternoon.  Both teams came out strong in the first match.  The score never differed by more than a couple of points, and as play continued the score was tied at 24-24.

The Cinco Ranch Cougars ended Jersey Village’s playoff hopes Tuesday night defeating the Falcons in a three game sweep. The Cougars did not waste any time by letting the Falcons hang around as they won 25-17, 25-11, and 25-14 in the Falcon gymnasium.

Tuesday’s double-header at the Cy-Fair Berry Center showcased four of the area’s best volleyball teams, two from District 17-5A and two 18-5A.  This Bi-District match up featured Katy against Langham Creek and Katy Taylor versus Cypress Creek. Defense, digs, and good old-fashioned confidence propelled the Katy volleyball team to victory against Langham Creek in three sets (25-12, 28-26, 25-20).

Orange volleyball team defeats Westminster

After intense competition, the Orange Panthers took home a three match victory to the Westminster Lions.  With full stands and loud cheers from the fans, both teams appeared a bit scattered at the beginning of the game.  The Panthers won the first match, yet severely struggled to keep their ground in the second.  Down in the match, the Panthers rose to the occasion and had an exciting comeback.   The Lions fell behind in the third match as the Panthers worked as a team to ensure a victory.  Orange team captain, Kahea Newlon set the standard for the game as she had numerous saves, precise serves, and timely sets throughout the games.  Currently filled with confidence, the Panthers will play Santa Ana High School on the October 25.
