{mosimage} Katy senior wide receiver Terrence Avie is College Ball or Bust’s Athlete of the Week. Avie’s standout performance in the 5A-Division II state semifinal game against San Antonio Madison on Saturday helped his team to a 66-21 victory and a spot in the state finals.
Avie caught two twenty plus yard touchdown catches in the first half of the Madison game and a crucial 30-yard reception on a fourth-and-five from quarterback, Bo Levi Mitchell.

All-Star Athlete of the Week: Nneka Ogwumike
The Athlete’s Connection has named Cy-Fair volleyball player Nneka Ogwumike the All-Star Athlete of the Week. In large part, because of her performance in the Region III 5A tournament, where the Bobcats advanced to the state tournament.
Strake Jesuit's McVaney making things happen in '07
After lighting up the scoreboards and taking part in all five Strake Jesuit touchdowns in a 34-12 win over Cy Creek, quarterback Jeff McVaney is The Athlete's Connection's Athlete of the Week.
Under McVaney’s leadership, the Crusaders are 7-1 overall and 4-1 in District 17-5A play.
