The University of Houston 2007 Gulf Swimming 13 and older competition is being held this weekend on the U of H campus. The events started Friday evening and will conclude Sunday afternoon as swimmers will compete to improve their times and qualify for the state championships later this summer.

Competing  this weekend are many of the best and brightest swimmers in the Houston area and from around Texas. The teams present include: the Aggie Swim Club, First Colony Swim Team, Katy Aquatics Team for Youth and many more from all around the Lone Star State.

The event will be one of many throughout the summer that allows top swimmers around the state to test their abilities among other top swimmers. The meet consisted of boy and girl heats from various different age ranges swimming both individual events and relays.

The ages ranged from 8-21 and were separated into several different age groups for competition purposes.

Stay tuned to the AC for more in depth coverage of USS swimming as the summer progresses.
