Bayou Bowl Celebrity Golf Tournament |

The Fifth Annual 2007 Bayou Bowl Celebrity Golf Tournament was held at the Goose Creek Country Club in Baytown on Friday. The tournament consisted of over 150 players made up of celebrities, coaches, city councilman, and supporters of the Bayou Bowl and the Shriners Hospitals.
The tournament raised money for the Shriners Hospitals for Children with medical needs. Brittany Day was the child representative at the golf course to put a face with the cause. There are 22 Shriner Hospitals in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico that provide orthopedic care for families at no charge.
The first year this tournament took place it raised $5,000 and last years total was over $26,000, so the hopes for this year is to surpass last years total and give the Shriner Hospital enough money to help several families. In addition to raising money for the hospital the golf tournament is to support the athlete’s playing in the Bayou Bowl on Saturday.
The Baytown Stallworth Stadium will be filled with the top senior football players from Houston and Louisiana High Schools on Saturday. The players have been practicing and taking part in several activities throughout the week, building up to the showdown between the two teams. Both teams have a 2-2 record and the 2007 game is guaranteed to be full of all-star action that the fans and the players have been waiting for.
The fans of the game include several former NFL players that were present at the golf tournament including Oliver Luck, Jerry Rhome, and Charlie Frazier. The celebrities and all that were involved will make a difference in the Shriners Hospitals for Children and are an inspiration for the Bayou Bowl players.
