The 2007 Jalapeno League Division I 18 & Under Girls played all day Friday at Clear Lake High School. Five teams were present and each team played at least two games throughout the day.

The girls jumped right into competition with Dirty Bay taking on Cy Fair. Dirty Bay worked well as a team with good communication and passing. With most of the Dirty Bay team coming from Sterling High School and Cy Fair players representing Cypress Fairbanks schools these girls had experience in the water. Dirty Bay held onto the lead for most of the game and ended with a final score of 7-1. Brittany Watkins from Dirty Bay was the lead scorer for both teams.

Lake athletes made up the Lone Star team as they took on Bay Area. From the drop of the ball Lone Star had the momentum and began scoring. With a score of 5-1 at the end of the second quarter, Bay Area's Melissa Au was able to connect with the back of the net and score her second goal of the game. Au's goals would be the only two goals for Bay Area as Mary Ann Moyer from Lone Star had five goals and helped her team with the win, with Lone Star winning 13-2.

Dirty Bay jumped back into the pool for their second game facing off against Jesuit. Dirty Bay's head coach, T.J. Markiewicz was satisfied with his teams win over Jesuit as they dominated the game and Watkins again lead her team to a 12-1 victory.

With Cy Fair and Lone Star both having previous wins in the day this game was set to be an intense match up. Lone Star gained the early lead in the first quarter but Cy Fair was not going to be outdone as they tied the 1-1 score in the second. Cy Fair continued to rally ending the game with a 4-1 win. Moyer again was the leading scorer for both teams.

The last 18 & under match up was between Jesuit and Bay Area. Melissa Au scored six of her teams 11 goals and helped her team gain the win. Bay Area stayed focused, communicated and held the lead throughout the game. The game was aggressive throughout with many fouls being called on both sides but Bay Area came out ahead ending the game with a final score of 11-3.

The teams will meet again on June 22nd at Sterling High School for more water polo action.
