The Athlete’s Connection covered boys and girls basketball. Second Baptist hosted its annual summer basketball league for private schools in the Houston area.

In the boys’ basketball game, the Conroe Mavericks competed against the
Kinkaid Falcons at eight o’clock this evening. The varsity teams had an
awesome run against one another; each twenty-minute half was full of
complete action by great playmakers.

At the half, the Mavericks led the Falcons 26-22. Eighteen minutes later
the game was tied with two minutes remaining. After a brief time out
either team could have claimed victory.

In the end, the Mavericks came away with the win, defeating the Falcons by four. The final score of the game was 48-44.

On the other side of the gym, the Eagles took on the Warriors defeating
them with the final score of 56-28.

The private school summer league program is becoming very beneficial for
each athlete has they continue developing their skills and talent year
round.
