Kinkaid’s field hockey season opener was today with a match and win against Duchesne.
Kinkaid had the only score of the first half as Alex Salinas assisted Claire Bailey’s goal with less than ten minutes left in the thirty-minute half.
Most of the action happened on Duchesne’s side of the field in the second half. Elaine Thurman scored Kinkaid’s second goal with an assist from Emily Burke with five minutes left on the clock. Then two minutes later, the girls switched roles as Burke scored the third goal on Thurman’s assist.
The Falcons had good teamwork and followed their coaches’ directions well.
“It’s a good start. I think that we’re not content about it but we recognize that we have a ways to go. We ended by picking up the pace a little and connecting with each other,” said Kinkaid’s head coach.
Kinkaid beat Duchesne 3-0.
The Falcons play their first counter-game in Dallas against Episcopal Dallas School on Saturday at noon.
“We saw them play last weekend and it should be a good match. Hopefully we can rise to the occasion and take a step forward,” said Kinkaid’s coach.
