Kinkaid’s Sarah Brown is Athlete’s Connection’s All-Star Athlete of the week after a standout performance against HCYA and being an overall leader on the Falcon team. Sarah is a senior and a 3-year varsity volleyball player who has been playing at Kinkaid since 7th grade.

Brown led her team to a 3-0 win against HCYA (25-22, 25-17, 25-21) and dominated the floor with 8 kills, 8 aces, 4 blocks, and hitting .375%.

“Sarah certainly stands out, she is good at blocking, hitting, and serving so all the way around,” said Kinkaid coach Debbie Sokol.

Brown not only plays for the Falcons but has also dedicated her time to club volleyball since her freshman year. She played for Texas Elite and plans to pursue a collegiate volleyball career.

“I love the teamwork and the competition.  The competition drives me,” explained Brown.

Brown and the Falcons have a 6-5 record and hope to make it to the SPC Championship in Dallas.

“I expect us to play hard, and get our heads in the game, we just need to stay focused.”

The Kinkaid volleyball program is up-and-coming, and players such as Brown guide the younger players to establish tradition and hone their skills. Brown’s advice for emerging players would be to remain focused, and put your heart into the sport.
