The tennis district semifinals started Tuesday for Spring Branch ISD. The team that wins 10 matches will advance to Saturday's finals.

The action started at 3:30 p.m.; Stratford hosted the Spring Woods Tigers and at Memorial the Mustangs hit the court against the Northbrook Raiders. Memorial and Stratford are favored to move onto the finals, due to Memorial’s undefeated District record and Stratford’s 7-1 record.

Memorial shut out Northbrook 12-0. Stratford beat Spring Woods 11-0. 

Spring Woods coach Vanessa Collins, whose team got third place, said “It’s always a struggle with Stratford. They are a great team and I am happy with third place.”

The courts saw doubles and singles competition and each player is eager to make it to regionals.
