Region IV Water Polo players are making their way to Austin next week. Teams from Cypress Creek, Jersey Village, Cy-Fair, Langham Creek, Tomball, Strake Jesuit, The Woodlands and Sterling are facing off in the Region Championships this weekend at Strake Jesuit to determine the state qualifiers.

Cy Creek and Sterling won Friday's semifinals and will play in the championship at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

“I expect them (Cy Creek) to come out hard, we have beat them every time we have played them this year but they are probably going to come out with a little more emotion,” Sterling head coach Scott Slay said. “They want to beat us and we want to beat them because first seed at State is very important.”
