SPC district rivals Kinkaid and Episcopal rushed the field with urgency Friday night. The Knights (3-4) had only one district game under their belt, while Kinkaid (2-5) had two.

Episcopal would hold the Falcons to just 120 total yards in Friday night’s battle, including just 21 yards in the air.  The Knights' defense was dominant, allowing only seven first downs for Kinkaid throughout the game. They forced six punts and two turnovers.

Kinkaid tailback Pierce Cohen rushed for 70 yards and had one touchdown while Episcopal senior David Nwabuisi rushed for 133 and 3 touchdowns. Episcopal finished with a total of 282 yards of offense for the night.

Kinkaid appeared confident and enthusiastic as they took the field. Episcopal received the ball on the opening kick-off.  Quarterback Shane Carden warmed up early, connecting with wide receiver Jay Magness for a first and goal. That set up RB David Nwabuisi to rush in for his first touchdown of the night.

The Knights' defense dominated early. Nwabuisi, who also plays linebacker for Episcopal, followed his touchdown with a sack on Kinkaid QB John McGee, who had a difficult time getting his rhythm going.

With eight seconds left before halftime, Episcopal QB Shane Carden ran the ball 30 yards, setting RB Nwabuisi up for his second touchdown of the game.  At the half the Falcons were down by seven.

The Falcons' defense stepped up their game in the second half, coming in and making important plays, but the offense committed several errors that set them back.  Just as the Falcons were moving the ball swiftly up the field, what looked like a scoring drive resulted in a punt.  Later, a high snap set the Falcons back 20 yards on third down, essentially ending their hopes for a win.

Episcopal would go on to claim a 26-14 win.
