Eisenhower junior Curtis McGregor is College Ball or Bust's All-Star Athlete of the Week. McGregor is the Eagles running back who has been a driving force in Eisenhower’s district championship season and now playoff success.
McGregor helped lead his team to a 47-29 bi-district victory against Westside last Saturday. He scored three of the Eagles' seven touchdowns, with two of them coming from more than 20-yard runs. McGregor finished the game with 159 rushing yards and averaged over nine yards a carry.
“It feels good, this is my first year going to the playoffs in football,” McGregor said. “The first half we came out struggling, we were slow but in the second half we picked it up knowing that this would be our last game and that we had to win.”
McGregor not only has love for the gridiron but also enjoys hitting the basketball court with his varsity team at Eisenhower. After the football season concludes McGregor will join the already in season basketball team.
When asked about his love for sports, especially football, McGregor put a smile on his face and said, “I just love the sport.”
McGregor and the Eagles (8-3) will take on the Cypress Ridge Rams in a second-round playoff game at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Berry Center.
