It may have been cold outside but the Rangers from Clements and the Seven Lakes Spartans’ heated up the Seven Lakes Natatorium in a fast paced meet where the Rangers slipped by Seven Lakes in a 374-371 team win Thursday night.
“I think it went ok, I think we have to go back and do a little work as usual but for where we are right now in training it was a good meet and they raced hard throughout the meet,” Clements head coach Justin O’Sullivan said.
The home team started the meet with a decisive win as the girls 200 Yard Medley Relay team made up of Kyra Jones, Kara Wilkerson, Anne Steele, and Bri Dillon took first place with a time of 1:53.83. The boys followed and Jeffery Lin, Christopher Kalmbach, Kelvin Pho, and Chuong Lai gave Clements their first 10 points of the night.
Clements’ girls solidified their 215-166 girls win in the final race of the night as they took first place in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay. The relay team was made up of Olivia Lin, Tiffany Cheng, Rebecca Reed, and Danielle Yoho.
The Seven Lakes boys relay team also finished the night clenching the boys overall win with a final score of 205-159 with an impressive 2:47.33, 400 Yard Freestyle Relay time. Seven Lakes’ Nate Jones, Dom Kisielewski, Andrew Franklin, and Jorge Faz flew past the second place team who finished with a time of 3:25.84.
“The kids swam very well, we are in a very hard part of our season on practicing,” Seven Lakes head coach Jordan Beck said. “Swimming against a team like Ft. Bend Clements is big for us because we are only a 4A school and they are a 5A school so the fact that my kids were able to compete at that 5A level I was pleased with the way they swam.”
