Morton Ranch hosted a tri-meet with Cypress Falls and Westside Thursday night.

“This was our first year to swim Westside and Cy Falls. I was excited to get a hold of them and swim a couple of extra dual meets,” said Morton Ranch coach Julie Hinson.

With the district championships just two weeks away and the regional meet following, these different district teams got an early glimpse of what is to come.

“I really like the tri-meet because it allows you to swim more than one team at time and you get to see a lot more competition,” said Hinson.

Taking first for the men was Morton Ranch with a 121 to 86 win over Cy Falls and a 141 to 120 win over Westside. On the women’s side, Westside swept the board with a 140 to 111 win over Cy Falls and a 179 to 71 win over Morton Ranch.

“We’re two weeks out from district and I’m really happy with where we are right now,” said Hinson.

The 24 event meet got started with the 200 yard medley relay. Westside’s team of Kaitlyn Ferron, Sarah Stapp, Carmen Lindmoen, and Paige Lolley (2:01.41) and Cy Falls’s team of Neil Caskey, Brian Richards, Ryan Moss, and Steven Nottebart (1:43.62) placed first.

Cy Falls’ Nicole Raab (2:01.63) and teammate Ryan Moss (1:50.98) placed first in the 200 yard freestyle.

Cy Fall’s Aliyah Mikulski (2:21.36) and Westside’s Nathan Drake (2:11.37) placed first in the 200 yard IM.

The 50 yard freestyle was next. Westside’s Paige Lolley (26.64) and Cy Falls’ Neil Caskey (21.13) placed first.

Girls 1 meter diving gave the swimmers a break. Amber Hughes of Morton Ranch and Kristin Klotz of Cy Falls were the only two divers. Hughes placed first with a score of 200.05 and Klotz placed second with a score of 163.30.

The 100 yard butterfly restarted the swimming. Carmen Lindmoen (1:03.51) of Westside and Brian Richards (59.73) of Cy Falls placed first.

Cy Falls teammates Alex Durkee (58.81) and Neil Caskey (46.70) placed first in the 100 yard freestyle.

Westside was the only team to swim the 500 yard freestyle. Two women and two men competed in one race. Reagan Diaz (5:32.79) and Milton Gantt (5:19.29) placed first.

Both the women and the men of Cy Falls won the 200 yard freestyle relay. Alex Durkee, Kelsey Anderson, Stephanie Ferguson, and Ashley Obrien swam a time of 1:51.14. Neil Caskey, Ryan Moss, Steven Nottebart, and Blake Fleck swam a time of 1:33.65.

The 100 yard backstroke was next. Nicole Raab (1:02.07) of Cy Falls and Cole Marinko (59.26) of Morton Ranch placed first.

Westside’s Sarah Stapp (1:14.35) and teammate Milton Gantt (1:05.53) placed first in the 100 yard breaststroke.
