Boys Game
Varsity Girls
Lady Coulshard scored 17 points as the Kinkaid girls basketball team defeated rival St. John's 47-38 Friday night.
The Falcons took the floor fearless and
ready to pond the rock. They led for most if not all of the entire
game.
“This is the best the team has played all year, we flowed
beautifully,” Coulshard said.
Beautifully was not the only word to describe Kinkaid and their phenomenal transition game.
The Mavericks were beat up the floor almost every time. They took
advantage and scored after nearly every steal they had.
Many outside shooters such as Candace Bailey scored 18 points and Virginia Waldrop scored 11, hitting major shots when it counted. After being lead on a 12-0 run in the third quarter, Bailey
took charge and began to dominate in the paint bringing the lead down
to just eight. Second-chance shots and inside shooting for Kinkaid
ultimately won them they game.
Varsity Boys
Kinkaid spread the ball well in the 52-50 overtime win against the Mavericks.
Michael Atmar scored 10 points, Luke Minett and George Collins scored nine and Ryan Gill
scored eight. It seems as if most of Kinkaid’s starters got a hand on
the ball as they led St. John's throughout the game.
Though Kinkaid had the lead, the Mavericks weren’t at all far behind.
Ethan Harry
who scored 18 points helped St. Johns stay with in four points or
less. With the game tied at 48 the ball game would go into a four
minute overtime. Kinkaid then stepped it. Five crucial free throws
were missed by the Mavericks in overtime making the Falcons victorious.
