Cypress Ridge defeated Cy-Fair 50-47 Friday night in a boys basketball game that came down to the last 41 seconds.

Rams Brandon Smith lead his team with 16 points on the night. The Rams kept the Bobcats trailing for most, if not the entire game yet they weren’t too far behind.

Scoring in double digits were Curtin Slaton with 12 points and Tristan Boudreaux with 10.

Cy-Ridge came into the game at 10-5, already having clinched a playoff spot in District 17-5A.

Meanwhile, Cy-Fair, which was on the cusp of the postseason for several weeks, ended the season with 10 straight losses.

The Rams went on a five-point run against the Bobcats when they began a full court press.  They converted each turnover they cause in the fourth quarter into points. Cy-Ridge also played a good transition game.

The Rams will continue on their journey towards state against Morton Ranch at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Merrell Center.
