While some of the public schools canceled their events due to the weather, the private schools were on hand in large numbers for the 41st Annual St. John’s Maverick Relays at the McMurrey track Friday night.

Teams from TAPPS and the SPC competed in the field events and preliminary running events. The long jump, triple jump, shot put, high jump, pole vault, and girls discus were the field events for Friday.

In the running category, the 3,200-meter-run and the 4-by-200 and 4-by-800 relays were run, along with a non-scoring 1,600-meter.

Results for these events were not available by press time, but the finals will take place starting at 9 a.m. Saturday.
