A three-goal outburst early in the second quarter powered the Memorial boys lacrosse team to a 14-2 rout of visiting Bellaire on Saturday.

In the first quarter Bellaire pushed hard to try to keep the ball away from their goal, and while Memorial managed only one goal the Mustangs allowed Bellaire just one.

At the beginning of the second quarter Memorial stepped it up and scored three goals. Through out the quarter Memorial kept the ball in their offensive end and Bellaire’s defense was no match. The Mustangs tacked on three more goals late in the second for a 7-1 halftime lead.

In the second half of the game Bellaire walked on the field with high hopes. They picked up their offense but still had a hard time overcoming Memorial’s defense. Bellaire was only able to score one goal in the third quarter.

Memorial finished hard in the last quarter with scoring four goals and kept Bellaire from scoring any.
