Mayde Creek sophomore swimmer Randal Smith, who placed third in the state meet in two events and qualified on two more relays, headlines local honorees to the Texas Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association’s all-state teams released Tuesday.
Smith was third in the 50 freestyle and 100 free and was on the qualifying 200 free and 400 free relay teams. Those teams, both of which were honored on TISCA’s First Team, consisted of Smith, Leo Schnee, Taylor Nichols and Tim Jones.
The top eight finishers in the state meet made TISCA’s First Team. Placers nine through 16 made the Second Team; all others are on the Honorable Mention.
Other top area honorees include Cypress Falls’ Neil Caskey, who won the 200 free and 100 butterfly championships; Cinco Ranch’s Jason Ting in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke; Stratford’s Hunter Bayley in the 500 free, 200 free and 100 free; Cy-Fair’s Jennifer Lamb in the 200 free and 500 free; and Langham Creek’s 200 free and 400 free girls relay teams.

Seven Lakes took a slew of honors in 4A. Fifteen Spartans swimmers were honored in as many events.
Kyra Jones was named to First Team in the 200 medley relay, 500 free and 100 backstroke. Ezrah Nyanat was honored in the 200 free, 500 free and as part of the 200 medley relay.
