“We were down by one, which they got on an error, and we didn’t sulk on it,” said Jersey Village coach Bruce Beets. “We came back and responded.”

The last few innings were quiet as far as hits go until the top of the eighth when Jersey Village scored, what turned out to be the winning run.
Molly Gorrie got a hit followed by a double, with two outs, to score Gorrie and win the game, 2-1.
“I knew we were going to score because we were putting the ball in play,” said Beets. “And I give them all the credit.”
