The Langham Creek Lobos (15-3) defeated the Cypress Woods Wildcats (11-6) 9-8 on a game-winning base hit by Max Jenkins that brought Austin Freitas in to score in a District 17-5A baseball game Saturday afternoon.

The teams were tied at 3 through 3 1/2 innings, but in the bottom of the fourth, the game got interesting.

Langham Creek had two runs on two hits. The Lobos took advantage of the Wildcats' lack of defense, stealing bases and making good offensive plays.

The top of the sixth was a huge inning for the Wildcats, when they scored five runs on three hits.

The highlight was Conner Hyde's three-run home run to center that made it 8-7.

Corey Morehouse of the Lobos came in as the closer.

Going into the seventh inning, things didn’t look very promising for the Lobos, but Morehouse held Cy Woods scoreless.

To start the bottom of the seventh, Austin Freitas doubled to left field. Ryan Sedeno and Corey Morehouse were both walked before Jenkins cleared the bases.
