Memorial volleyball player Sidney Stewart has changed her 'Stangs.

Stewart, a three-year letterwinner for Memorial and a member of the Texas Tornadoes club team, signed her national letter of intent Wednesday to play at SMU.

Sidney is relatively new to volleyball; she didn’t start playing until middle school.

“I went to a private school that allowed me to play all sports. I tried volleyball and it was the sport that I felt most comfortable and enjoyed playing.” Stewart said.

Stewart desired to play volleyball at the collegiate level and has worked hard to get recruited for the past three years. Sidney said the recruiting process has been difficult but her hard work paid off in the end.

Stewart is an outside hitter with a rather impressive career. Her career stats speak for themselves – 1,058 kills and 1,057 digs, with more than 500 kills her senior year.

Stewart wants to major in finance and possibly work in real estate, as does her father.
