One of Katy ISD’s heated wrestling rivalries took place Friday afternoon when Katy Taylor battled Cinco Ranch. Both the girls and the boys faced off in this no holds barred match where the Cougars left the mat victorious 45-28.
In the girls division, no scores were recorded. Before the match, Cinco Ranch won the official coin toss that earned the Cougars the opportunity to see what wrestler Taylor chooses to send out for the next match. The Cougars are coached by Bill Dushane.
According to Taylor coach Todd Hart, this toss is critical for either team because it allows the opponent to choose an athlete best suited for the next competition.
