There was plenty of action at the June XPlosion at Pearland Junior High School West on Saturday, where a handful of Houston-area high school basketball talent was on display.

In one game, the Houston Elite fell to the Daniel Gibson All-Stars 74-65.

Hightower product J.J. Richardson led the Elite with 19 points, with Strake Jesuit's Tim Frazier scoring 14 and Darius Goff from Eisenhower adding 13.

In another game, the Houston Hoops dominated the GoalBreakers 79-60. Yates products Brandon Peterson and Marshall Lane led the team with 20 and 17 points respectively. Devin Gray from Kountz added 14.

Tournament play begins at 8 a.m. Sunday at the school, with the semifinals starting at 2 p.m.

Admission is $6.
