Although she played through 90-degree heat and was not feeling well, Alyssa Pantle still put up one of her personal best days of playing golf.

The soon-to-be junior at Cinco Ranch was happy with her performance at the Houston Golf Association’s Junior Golf event at the Club at Falcon Point in Katy, as she shot an 87 to win the Weekly Series for girls age 16-18.

“It was my second-lowest in my career,” Pantle said.

Pantle finished five strokes ahead of Stephanie Nguyen of Sugar Land and 10 strokes clear of Alexandra Ewing, also from Sugar Land.

“My summer practice has been iffy, just trying to be focused,” Pantle said.

In the Performance Series, Chelsey Watkins of Sealy held off Gabriella Rosales of Richmond by four strokes. Watkins shot an 82 while Rosales had an 87.

In the boys 16-18 bracket, Port Arthur’s Trent Boudoin won the Weekly Series by shooting a 73, three strokes ahead of Connor Dawson of Sugar Land and Preston Stanley, who both shot a 76.

In the Performance Series, Taylor Green of Cinco Ranch finished the day with an even-par 72, six strokes ahead of Katy’s Andrew Ball.
