DeMatha Catholic (Maryland) and Aldine (TX) were crowned the National and Texas champions at the Academy National Invitational at M.O. Campbell Coliseum Saturday night.
The competition was exceptional all week as this tournament was a must-see for any die-hard basketball fan.
DeMatha faced a tough St. Patrick (NJ) team Saturday night in a game that could have went any way until the final buzzer. In the end, the Stags defeated the Celtics 58-49.
Scoring leaders for the Stags were guards Austin Freeman (20 points), Jeff Peterson (13 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists), and Isaiah Tate (10 points, 5 rebounds).
