Packed stands, check. Spirit towels, check. Band present, check. Tuesday night at Crum gym at Episcopal High was the stage for one of SPC’s heated rivalries between Kinkaid and Episcopal.

Emotions and school spirit was the common denominator as the two teams battled in front of hundreds of excited fans. On this court, there was only room for one winner and Kinkaid edged Episcopal 60-58..

This was a game where the largest lead by either team was five points. Kinkaid had the slight advantage going  into halftime, 27-24, but that lead did not last long.

The Knights came out firing and closed the lead within a matter of seconds. The second half was full of tough defense, aggressive drives, and raining three-pointers.

As far as the final quarter, the teams exchanged leads for seven of the eight minutes. In the end, the Falcons came out on top.

Kinkaid’s leading scorer was Garrett Lowry with 20 points. Michael Atmar cashed in nine. Russell McClenny who had 16 points led the Knights. Jonathan Aganekwu ended with 13 points.
The Falcons travel to play Beaumont Kelly and Episcopal will hit the road and face St. Stephens. Both games are set for 7 p.m.
