Cinco Ranch displayed another offensive outburst as they manhandled Eisenhower 62-21 Friday night in a 5A-Region III, Division I area-round game at Rhodes Stadium.

The Cougars (10-1) took advantage of eight turnovers from the Eagles (7-3), converting five of them into 24 first-half points.

The Cougars advance to play Hightower at 6 p.m. Friday at Delmar Stadium.

Because of the short field throughout the game and a high-powered offense, the Cougars racked up 530 total yards while the defense once again kept their opponents in check as the Eagles struggled to get anything going.

After both teams combined for three turnovers, the Cougars made it 7-0 when quarterback Shane Ros would call his own number as he scored from five yards out with 6:35 left in the first quarter.

On the Eagles next possession, an intercepted pass by linebacker Andy McAteer was converted to a 20-yard field goal by Hugh Hunger with 3:10 left in the first quarter.

The Cougars made it 17-0 when James Radcliffe recovered an Eagles fumble and rumbled in 35 yards for the score with 10 seconds left in the quarter.

In the second quarter, Ros capped off a 59-yard drive with an 18-yard dive into the end zone to make it 24-0.

After the kickoff, the Eagles got rolling when Curtis McGregor jetted on the first play for a 64-yard break away touchdown to make the score 24-7.

The Cougars punted on their next possession but the ball hit an Eagles player and Radcliffe recovered. Cinco needed three plays to drive 53 yards, and Ros hit a wide open Tyler Mack for a 50-yard touchdown pass and a 31-7 lead.

With 2:51 until halftime, the Eagles drove 58 yards as McGregor fought for a four-yard touchdown run to make it 31-14.

The Cougars mighty offense struck again as Ros hit Mack on a slant route and he took it in 52 yards for the score and 38-14 halftime lead that capped off a three-play, 80 yard drive. The Cougars fumbled the second-hald kickoff, and on the first play McGregor ran in from 24 yards to make the score 38-21.

Cinco Ranch responded with an eight-play, 78 yard drive as Ros hit Collin Buteaux on a slant for the 24-yard touchdown and 45-21 score. They took a 52-21 lead when Adam Hirtz scored from four yards.
