Spring Woods and Nimitz played Thursday night in a district qualifying game. The game started off close with an unusual play to end the first quarter. Spring Woods was down by one and Coach Rodriguez wanted to make sure they had the last shot. Chaniqua Mauldin held the ball at the top of the key with the clock running for almost 2 minutes before they started the play.
The half ended in Nimitz favor as they managed to continuously get the ball inside and finish their shots. Spring Woods played aggressive defense in the second half, but it was not enough to stop the Lady Cougars. Nimitz took the game with a final score of 33-28.
