The Memorial Mustangs battled the Spring Woods Tigers on Tuesday, January 23rd. It was a big game for both teams because before the game started Stratford, Memorial, and Spring Woods were all tied for third.
The Tigers began the game with winning the tip off. In the first half of the game, Spring Woods got into trouble as they had numerous offensive fouls which in turn made them lose scoring opportunities.
Towards the end of the first half the Tigers had possession of the ball and called a timeout with 8.49 seconds left in the game to get one last play in order. Their plan worked and they were able to manage to get in a shot. However, what was unexpected was the lay-up that Will Booth managed to score at the buzzard to make the Mustangs have a 26-22 lead.
Going into the second half with a lead, the Mustangs worked out their passing and scoring opportunities and played as a team which allowed them to slowly take the lead.
The fourth quarter was filled with fouls from the Tigers as they tried desperately to gain the lead. The Mustangs kept the lead and left with a victory and a final score of 59-48.
