The Cinco Ranch Cougars hit the court ready to play Tuesday night against the Morton Ranch Mavericks. They took an early lead in the first quarter and continued to extend the lead to 42-13 at the half.

Briana Gilbreath had the hot hand leading the team with 15 points, she was joined by three others who also scored in double digits.  The Mavericks struggled to put points on the board and had to depend on their defense to keep the game close.  Starting the second half, the Mavericks tried to slow the Cougars down and began to find their rhythm in the fourth quarter where they scored 12 points.  Mykeal Swain and Ingrid Pinzon both contributed nine points to the Mavericks score trying to help close the gap.

The Cougars bench saw a lot of action and received some quality minutes, helping win the game with a score of 73-32 over the Mavericks.

“We need to stay focused and concentrate on the four other District games ahead of us,” explained Coach Bartlett of Cinco Ranch.

The Cougars and Mavericks look forward to continuing on with Districts, the Cougars play Alief Taylor and the Mavericks take on Elsik.
