Hunter Bayley is an
All-American swimmer who recently competed in the 19-5A District Swim
Meet where he dominated the meet with his speed and technique. Hunter
competed in four events, the 100 yard Backstroke, 500 yard Freestyle,
200 yard Medley Relay, and the 400 yard Freestyle Relay where he took
first place in the first two individual events and first with his
teammates in the relays.
Chosen as the
Athlete of the Meet for the 2nd year running, Hunter now
holds the title as the District Champion for the events in which he
competed.
He is a sophomore
attending Stratford High School where he not only competes on his
high school team but also for the Fleet Club Swim Team as well.
He has been
swimming competitively since he was 10 years old and began his club
training at the Westside DAD's Club YMCA. Training year round,
Bayley has been earning honors in the water since the age of eleven.
Medalling
consistently at state level competition which is known as TAGS (Texas
Age Group Standards), Bayley set four club records during his time
there which included: 200 yd. Backstroke, 100 meter and 200 meter
Backstroke, and as part of the 400 yd. Medley Relay.
Hunter has also won
several high school awards. He qualified for State in the 100 yd.
Backstroke and placed 9th as a freshman. He was All-State
in the 100-yd. Backstroke and Honorable Mention in the 200-yd.
Individual Medley and is now in consideration for All-American again
in the 100 yd. Backstroke.
Hunter enjoys
working out with his friends from club and the high level of
competition this level of swimming offers. Hunter is an outstanding
athlete who will continue to make a name for himself in the swimming
world.
