Lady Tigers Dominate Against Northbrook
Tuesday February 06, 2007

If you walked into the Northbrook gym Tuesday night at half time you would have thought the scoreboard was malfunctioning with a score of 1 to 38.

The Northbrook lady Raiders took on the Tigers from Spring Woods and as depicted in the score the Tigers were dominating the game. The Raiders gave a valiant effort but it was clear that they were having an off day. Every player from Spring Woods received a chance to play and each player that came into the game contributed to the ending score of 66-23.

The Raiders did try to make a come back hitting some three's in the fourth quarter and playing hard until the very end but going up against Spring Woods' Arielle Daron, Kristen Johnson, Olivia Cortez, Chaniqua Mauldin, and Kristen Contreras they were matched with every basket. With this win Spring Woods qualified for playoffs, this being only the second time in the school's history.

This is a great week in the life of our Varsity Girls Basketball team, and thier coaches. What a hard fought battle they have put up for SWHS. This team could have folded up a long time ago, but the character and tenacity of these young ladies has shown that nothing is out of reach,.. if in fact you reach for it. The Lady Tigers have done that, and I am betting on more. When they come away with the win against a "ranked" team like the Westside Lady Wolves nothing will get this fan off the ceiling. Hope you all can come see this happen in person. I for one won't miss it. GO LADY TIGERS 2007!!!!
