It was tied at the half 1-1, in the Stratford vs. MacArthur boys soccer game Tuesday night. Ramon Morales for MacArthur and Daniel Defreitas for Stratford were responsible for their teams initial points. On the sidelines both teams were getting quite the pep talk urging them to pick up the pace and prevail over their opposing team.

In the beginning of the 2nd half the Spartans did a good job holding possession. Unfortunately for this home team,  the Generals prevented them to execute their plays and score a goal. MacArthur began taking advantage of their opportunities and made the first goal of the half through a penalty shot by Cesar Silva. The Spartans lost their momentum and allowed Juan Barrera to make the final shot for the Generals, and for the game. The Final score was 3-1 MacArthur.

Coach Copa was thrilled with his team especially in the 2nd half,
“ I wish they would have more of their opportunities earlier in the game.”
“I'm really proud of Freshman, Richard Flores, he really stepped up his performance and proved that he could hang with the older boys”

MacArthur and Stratford girls played follow the boys. The Spartans started off fresh with a 2-0 lead by halftime. The Generals got their heads and hearts back in the game. Blanca Gomez and Laura Ivarra scored for their team with over 30 minutes left on the clock. Stratford didn't let down just yet, Misha Sharp and Lauren Kutinac added a couple more points to take the lead and the game. The Final score was 4-2 Stratford. Other scorers include Kate Hudson and Kat Eiser.
