Thanks to all you loyal readers and fans. As the editor, I would like to express how much my staff and I appreciate your support of our publication. We also support true and devoted fans.
However, we strive to cover each school equally, the schools that request our presence, and those within our local area. We work diligently to do so in an unbiased way. Our goal is to spotlight outstanding student-athletes, teams, and support groups in a positive light. (Please see our Mission Statement).
The “hot” conversation over the SHS vs. MHS basketball game shows that feelings run deep and that both schools have some very loyal fans. Our stand is to support and respect every player and all who participate in a sporting event.
The sportsmanship article had no bearing on the previous article and had been planned in advance. We value your input. However, there has to be a common ground where each of us can support the triumphs of individuals and recognize that lasting memories are built on respect and camaraderie.
Rivalries are a part of the fabric of a typical sporting event. Americans are loyal to their respective teams. However, cursing, anger that leaves the court or the field, destruction of property, and disrespect of others is not necessary for a fan to be loyal.
Thank you again for the support you have given us. We strive to serve you as a community.
Sincerely written,
L. Sinclair
