The Campbell Center Friday saw the Cy-Fair lady Bobcats play the Dulles Vikings. The game started of in the Vikings favor with them putting the first points on the board. Dulles was out rebounding Cy-Fair and not giving them any easy baskets. Finally with less than six minutes to play Cy-Fair put their first point on the scoreboard. After that the Bobcats wasted no time, they went hard to the basket and started hitting all their shots. Cy-Fair closed the first quarter with a nine-point lead of 18-9.

The second quarter got Dulles into foul trouble. The Vikings had ten fouls, which gave Cy-Fair a lot of easy baskets and allowed them to hold the lead going into the second half with a score of 34-21. After half time the tides turned in fouls when Cy-Fair received four fouls in the first two minutes. This could have been the turning point for Dulles to catch up but they could not get any of their shots to fall.

In the fourth quarter the lady Bobcats were just putting the icing on cake and assuring themselves a place in the Regional Finals on Saturday. Dulles’ players began to foul out in order to slow the Bobcats down but Cy-Fair took this opportunity on the free throw line to extend their lead. Cy-Fair came out victorious with a final score of 68-49 over Dulles.

Cy-Fair’s Nneka Ogwumike led her team with 21 points, Mansa El had 14 points and Megan Daniel had 12 points. For the Vikings, Kelsey Bone was the high scorer with 16 points and Jasmin Henderson had 10 points.

The Bobcats will take on the Westside Wolves Saturday February 24 at the Campbell Center.
