American Cheer Power Championships
Tuesday March 06, 2007
Written by Angela Hargrove

This past Saturday American Cheer Power hosted the Small Gym Championships in Belton, TX.  There were approximately 100 teams in attendance and there were many awards earned.  The competition day began with the younger age cheerleaders and moved through the older competitors.  Small Gym Championships is a way for smaller programs, 150 athletes and under, to have an opportunity to compete against other programs that have the same enrollment.

American Cheer Power has gained much success by offering a wide range of competitive levels, squad sizes, and divisions.  This variety gives just about everybody an opportunity to show their skills.  More importantly, it gives kids an arena to develop their skills.  The company’s owner and operator, Regina Symmons, maintains a “family affair” philosophy when it comes to running her business.  As far as she’s concerned, there is a spot for everyone who wants to be a part of the fun.

As we continue to get in to the cheerleading segment we will discuss other companies that provide  instruction and offer avenues for these dynamic young athletes to show their talent.  As promised before, we will be covering school teams, so check back to see which program we’ll talk to first.

I will pass this information along to a couple of co-workers who are interested in their daughters becoming cheerleaders.
