The Tennis Cy-Fair ISD Invitational took place all day Wednesday at several locations and hosted high schools from all over the area. The athletes started playing at 8 a.m. and continued to play throughout the day, making their way through the brackets and into the finals.
Cy-Falls High School had their courts field with mixed doubles for A and B teams. The tennis players competed throughout the day playing two sets and as Lee Joiner, Head Coach at Cy-Falls said, “There are a lot of schools out here so everybody gets to play a whole bunch and see the different levels of competition.”
For the mixed doubles B team, Klein’s May and Niland and Cy Ridge’s Hopper and Nguyen made it to the finals that took place late in the afternoon. The A team saw a great match in the finals between Cy Falls’ Nick Jankovsky and Jaimie O’Leary and Langham Creeks’ Jennifer Solis and David Hoffman. The two sets ended as 7-6 and 6-2 giving Cy-Falls the victory at home.
