The battle of red and white went down Thursday afternoon at the Memorial lacrosse field when Memorial hosted St. Thomas. For all who attended, they saw a lot of red and yellow. Those seemed to be the constant colors seen as both teams’ school colors were consistent, and penalty flags flew every quarter.

Either way, this was one hard-fought, tough game. The Mustangs came out strong early and established the tempo going into halftime with a 4-2 lead.

The Eagles jumped back in the mix with a goal of their own early in the third quarter. Both teams managed to score several goals throughout the remainder of the game. But when the buzzer sounded Memorial walked off their field victorious.

Scoring for Memorial was Mason Hebert with three goals, and Kevin Neal and Walker Smith with two. Robert Sauermann and Jungi Wiener each had a goal apiece.

For St. Thomas, Sam Payne scored three goals while Matt Alagh and Ross McGlocklin both scored one.
