Friday the Stratford Spartans took on the Spring Woods Tigers at Stratford High School. In the first inning Spring Woods was sending out a message, with their loud chants throwing Stratford’s pitcher off and getting the big hits they needed to give them two runs. The Spartans started to find their hitting groove by getting good hits but they could not convert them into runs in this inning.

The fourth inning held steady for both teams until the fifth inning when Spring Woods got two more runs but the Spartans stepped up to the pressure. With two outs Stratford got themselves back into the game with a grounder and a hit all the way to the fence to give end the inning with a score of 9-2, Spring Woods.

The sixth and seventh inning was full of great fielding and stops by both teams, giving neither team another chance to score, ending with a victory for Spring Woods with a final score of 9-2.
