Brian Thorne, of the Cinco Ranch soccer team, has earned our spot for the athlete of the week not only for his achievements on the field but also for his success in the classroom.

Throne is a goalie for the Cougars and was also a kicker on the Cougar football team. This past week Thorne recorded 15 saves in Cinco’s shutout win over the Hastings Fighting Bears. However, these accomplishments are minute compared to what he has accomplished in the classroom.

Brian has maintained a 4.09 GPA throughout his high school career including several A.P. and Honors classes. Thorne has made future plans to attend Mississippi St. and has been selected as one of 25 students to receive early admittance into the Mississippi St. veterinarian program. He will have the option to complete his undergraduate studies in three years and then have a guaranteed spot in to the veterinarian program.

Thorne has earned academic honors making the honor role and is also a participant in the Cinco Ranch High School choir.  He volunteered at Old Town Animal Hospital in Katy and did such an outstanding job that he was made into a part time employee.

Congratulations Brian on your success.   The Athletes Connection wishes you the best as you pursue your dreams of becoming a veternarian.
