Mark Almagner of the Milby Buffalos and Edgar Gonzales of the Chavez Lobos faced off on the mound Wednesday night as district play continues in 20-5A. It was a very low scoring game in the beginning as Milby scored the only two runs through three and a half innings of play and held Chavez to zero.

However, in the bottom of the fourth the Buffalos found their rhythm and put eight runs on the board. Led by Chris De Alejandro who had a single, two RBI’s, and two stolen bases, the Buffalos would be able to sew the game up if they did not give up at least three runs in the top of the fifth. The Buffalos wouldn’t chance it and didn’t allow the Lobos any runs to end the game in the fifth on the run rule.

Almagner would earn the victory for Milby to improve to 2-4 on the season and 1-1 in district. He pitched a no hitter and had eight strikeouts.
