With three individuals and four relays named to the 2006-07 All-state Team, Memorial's Swimming and Diving team has made quite a splash in the world of high school sports.

A Junior and All-American Diver, the Mustang's Chelsea McCorvey led her team with her 6th place finish at the state meet. Top qualifiers for the boys were Junior Chris Valach, who swam the 500 Free in 4:43.20, and Sophomore John Wagner, who shone in the 200 Individual medley with a time of 1:58.71.

Group talented Mustang swimmers into fours, and the Relays reign. Lady Mustangs had two of their relays named to the All-State Team, the 200 medley Relay, and the 400 Free Relay.

The 200 Medley members were Junior Carleigh Kutac, Freshman Catherine Wagner, sophomore Cheryl Wan, and sophomore Kristin Rollins, who boast a time of 1:52.79, which they swam at the Regional Meet.

The members of the 400 Free Relay were also Kutac, Wagner, Rollins, and Junior Emily Shoemaker. The team's best is a 3:38.10, a time that not only landed the girls a spot on the All-State Team, but broke a school record established in 1982, as well.

The Mustangs Boys' 200 Medley Relay and 200 Free Relay were also named to the All-State-Team. The 200 Medley Relay members included Senior Brain Rockwell, Senior Ben Reinhardt, Senior Chris Deal, and Senior Will Pritchard. The boys best time of the year was 1:41.02, which they swam at the Regional Meet.

The 200 Free Relay was compromised of Senior Jack Schiffer, sophomore John Wagner, Junior Chris Valach, and Pritchard. The boys swam a 1:29.13, a time they also won at the Regional meet.

Hard work has paid off for the Mustang swimmers and divers, whose talent and determination have been formally recognized by their placement in the 2006-07 All-State Team. Congratulations, mustangs; keep swimming.
