The South Zone Softball Tournament continued play at St. John’s early Saturday morning. The SPC schools gathered this weekend in Houston for the tournament playing at both St. John’s and Episcopal school athletic facilities.

Kinkaid vs. Hockaday
Falcon pitcher Sydney Friday recorded 18 strikeouts, an RBI, and only gave up three hits in a 3-0 victory over Hockaday. In this low-scoring game, Kinkaid had five players earn a hit.

Maddie Dorflinger, Jordan Lippman, Ana Sofio Mariotto, Katie Skarke, and Friday all safely reached base. Hockaday’s Sarah Dockery was 2-for-3 (double, single) and pitcher Chelsea Miller had five strikeouts.

St. John’s vs. St. Andrews
The Lady Maverick pitcher, Laura Burdine, tossed a no-hitter Saturday afternoon against St. Andrews en route to a 10-0 victory. St. John’s Virginia Waldrop had a double and single while Nora Niebruegge singled twice and had two RBIs.
